The Mini Print Exhibition
Touring Exhibition, UK.
Through Red Dot Art Consultancy, I was able to apply and be successful to take part in this great touring exhibition that celebrates traditional printmaking techniques in miniature scale.
This touring exhibition has over 500 affordable and original mini works of art by more than over 150 UK printmaker artists.
After being accepted into the National Original Print Exhibition at Bankside Gallery, Red Dot Art Consultancy offered me to apply for their Mini Print Exhibition and of course I grabbed it with both hands. Continuing with my style of work, I created a few compositions that fit within the 10cm x 10cm restrictions and sent my new pieces of work off.
Using blind embossing, caustic etching, hard ground etching and woodblock, I created 3 original prints, each having a limited edition of five prints. These works are named
PI
PII
PIII
This new collection, using the same theme throughout all my works, focuses on the printer’s tray and the history of it within my family. In more depth, these prints have a P which represents the common saying which originated from typesetting “mind your P’s and Q’s”. I just have to make a Q collection now!
